Abstract

19,517. Conner, M.S. Aug. 20. Telephones. - In telephone receivers of the kind in which an electromagnet is used, the construction is such as to provide a low magnetic reluctance. A conical iron case A with a stem B is fitted with a core C of iron wires, carrying a coil D, the ends of which are connected to insulated terminals G on the stem B. The iron diaphragm E is clamped in position against the cone A by screwing the ear-piece on to the outer casing, which is of any suitable form, and which may be insulated if desired by means of the ring K. In a modification, the conical case A is replaced by a hollow cylinder.
