Abstract

3423. Shaw, T. Feb. 12, 1910, [Convention date]. Reactances, ironcored.-A loading coil for telephone or telegraph circuits has two symmetrically arranged windings. The lead L is connected to the inner winding 12 on one half 10 of the annular core and to the outer winding 12<a> on the other half 10<a>. The lead L<2> is similarly connected to the inner winding 13 on the half core 10<a> and to the outer winding 13<a> on the half core 10. The windings are separated by insulation. This arrangement of windings is stated to reduce the magnetic leakage to the case. To reduce the capacity effect between different parts of the windings, and between the windings and the core and case, the parts of the windings at which this might take place are arranged to be at substantially equal potential.
