Abstract

23,748. Baehr, C. Oct. 13. Telephones.-One or both of the concentric poles of the magnet system in a telephone receiver are slit longitudinally to prevent eddy currents from being sent up. The poles B, C are mounted on opposite ends of the magnet A, the winding D being placed between them or partly between them and partly outside C, as at D<1>. The diaphragm E is placed above the poles. The pole-pieces may otherwise be formed by rolling slit plates or from bundles of iron wire, the ends of which are soldered together.
