Abstract

17,267. Hilden, W. June 24, 1909, [Convention date]. Mules; rollers and roller heads.-Relates to apparatus for carrying into effect the process described in Specification 2992/10. The sliver &c. passes from the usual feed aparatus 7, Fig. 1, through a pair of rollers 9, a twist tube 10, and a group of delivery rolers 11, which effect the first drawing-out of the yarn, to the spindle 8. The rollers 9, 11, and the twist tube 10 are driven from a shaft 2, Fig. 2, situated inside the main driving-shaft 1 and driven from pulleys 3, 4. When the carriage is running in, the belt 18 is on the fast pulley, the shaft 2 is itself driven, and drives the rollers 9, 11 through gearing 5, 12 and the shafts 13, 13<a> and also the cylinder 15, from which the twist tube 10 is driven, through cord pulleys 6, 16. When the carriage has finished its traverse, the belt 18 is moved on to the loose pulley. Any desired number of drawing and twisting appliances may be arranged in series one behind the other.
