Blast apparatus.-In a gas-producer, the air and steam are supplied to an annular tuyere box b beneath the wall of the producer, having openings b<2> in the inner wall b<1> leading into the producer, the bottom b<6> being inclined inwards and downwards. The openings b<4> in the outer wall of the box, closed by doors b<5>, are arranged between the tuyere openings b<2>, so that two of the openings b<2> can be pricked from one opening in the outer wall. A transverse partition in the tuyere box at the blast entrance divides the blast and distributes it equally amongst the tuyere openings b<2>. The tuyere box is formed in segments so arranged that the joints rest on the skeleton columns c.
