Rigid-jaw wrenches.-A loose nut-cap a, adapted for use on machinery where nuts of various sizes may require tightening up, is cubical in form, and is provided with a nut-aperture 1 in each of its six sides, such as a<1>, a<6>. It may be housed operatively in spanners of various types, but preferably in the box spanner shown, wherein the handle is connected to the cylindrical head b<1> by a universal joint. The nut-cap a is cut away at its angles and corners to reduce its weight, and, for economy of space, the cut-away corners are rounded as at 3<a> to be flush with the surface b<3> of the spanner head in the interruptions b<4> thereof.
