Nubs, bolts, and studs.-Nuts, the heads of bolts, studs, &c., of the type formed with flats, i.e. hexagonal, square, &c., are provided with one or more parallel-sided grooves c in each flat. Ridges d so formed at the corners of the nut &c. are adapted for use as flats with an ordinary spanner, and provide a key and abutment for engagement with a specially shaped spanner e for use in confined spaces.
