13,784. Conzelman, J. E. June 7. Reinforced-concrete structures. - In concrete structures, the floors consist of slabs, previously formed, and resting at the corners or centres on columns. In Fig. 2, the lower column is shown with a central stud 7, and bonds 14 which project between the slabs an@ into recesses in the column above. The recesses and junction of the slabs are afterwards filled in with concrete. The corners of the slabs may be recessed, as shown in Fig. 7, or the recesses may lie diagonally between the joints. The slabs may be separated so that beams may be cast between them, and the junction shown in Fig. 2 may be applied to fix the bases of the columns.
