Abstract

Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and metal springs.-Pairs of leaf springs 5, 6, Fig. 1, extending radially, and secured to the rim or the hub, are forced apart by wedgeshaped members 3 fitted with tapering plates 4 serving to guide the springs. In the form shown, the wedges 3 form part of a star-shaped member secured to the hub. Plates 11 at the sides provide lateral stability. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the leaf springs are replaced by pivoted plates 5, 6, held by helical springs 16 in tension.
