Abstract

Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and helical springs. -The rigid spokes c, Figs. 1 and 2, are braced by an inner rim b and project into recesses c in an intermediate channel rim d. Helical springs fare arranged between these two rims. The outer rigid channel rim g is in sections secured together at g<4> and slides over the sides of the. intermediate rim. Groups of helical springs j, Fig. 3, are arranged near the ends of each section and rest on brackets k. At the centre of each section are two plungers or arms h, which fit in recesses i in the rim d at each side of the spoke recesses e. A soft tread is fitted to the outer rim.
