Link-work.-In an internal-combustion engine having cylinders parallel to a central driving- shaft, the pistons are connected to a ring 11, which embraces an inclined disk 12, 13 on the driving-shaft. The transverse movements of the ring are restrained by a sliding ball 22, which engages a corresponding recess in the ring, the ball being mounted on an eccentric shaft 24 driven in the same direction as and at twice the speed of the shaft 3. To balance the moving parts, a fly-wheel having an inclined rim 32, 33 is carried by the sleeve 12. Or, if preferred, suitably arranged balance weights may be carried by the fly-wheel.
