Abstract

1447. B³rckner, J. June 22, 1909, [Convention date]. Embroidery machines. - Flat buttons are covered, or are manufactured by covering rings with stitching, in an embroidery machine. The rings are held by a notched presser-plate d against a base fabric carried by the usual fabric frame. The rings g are then oversewn on to the fabric. When they are secured in place, the plate d is removed, and the covering stitching completed. Afterwards, the finished buttons are removed from the fabric. The usual pressers are mounted below the needles, and are held out of operative position while the plate d is in use.
