Abstract

Water, distilling.-In an apparatus in which the water used for cooling purposes in the condenser is used as feed for the evaporator, the evaporator C is provided with two open chambers Q, J on its exterior. The chamber Q receives the feed-water, which overflows by a pipe F from the condenser. The chamber J receives from the evaporator the overflow through a pipe H, and also through a pipe P a separate overflow from the condenser. The condenser comprises a water-jacketed tube L fitted with a vent-pipe R. The water may be filtered before or after distillation. The Provisional Specification states also that the apparatus is mounted on a charcoal or other filter through which the distilled water passes.
