Abstract
22,238. Koellner, C. A. Oct. 15. Filtering o i l s ; tank filters.- Viscous oil, engine grease, &c. are purified by passage through a heated filter, comprising two tanks each fitted with a number o f filtering- layers. The oil &c. passes down the passage i, is heated by means of the pipes h, and rises through the filtering-layers b, b<1>, b<2> in the upper chamber, which is provided with a removable cover. The oil &c. leaves the upper tank through the outlet e and is delivered by the shoot f into the lower tank, where it passes down through the filtering-layers b, b<1>, b<2> into the chamber l. The filtering-layers are separated by bars, frames, &c., and are pressed together by means of screws c. Impurities are removed from the catch-pit by means of the cock n.
