Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Relates to magazine rifles and consists in (1) forming a curved projecting rib h, Fig. 1, integral with the left wall c of the breech shoe a to strengthen the shoe and to form a guide for the thumb when charging the magazine from a cartridge clip; and (2) providing the right wall d of the shoe with an integral rib k which has a member m, Fig. 4, to receive a sliding block l in which is pivoted a cut-off plate n working through a slot p to cut off the supply of cartridges from the magazine, a spring q, Fig. 1<a>, retaining the sliding block in any position. The Specification in the original form, as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a), comprises also (3) locking the bolt at the rear and behind the magazine by means of two lugs t on the bolt engaging respectively behind a shoulder s on the shoe and in a cam-shaped groove on the inside of the left wall of the shoe; (4) forming a specially shaped recess r in the bridge e to facilitate the insertion of the cartridge clip for re-charging the magazine; (5) details of an extractor; and (6) a clip or charger to hold five cartridges. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
