27,011. Haddan, H. J., [Lamb Knitting Machine Co.]. Nov. 20. Change-speed gearing.-Relates to changespeed gearing, suitable for motor-vehicles, of the class employing radially-yielding sliding clutch keys, and comprises the provision of a flywheel to facilitate changing gear. The motor shaft 10 is connected to an intermediate shaft 11 by a friction clutch 12. The shaft 11 is provided with a fly-wheel 48 which keeps the parts of the variable-speed gear in motion after the disengagement of the clutch 12 long enough to allow the operation of changing speed to be completed.
