Abstract

24,233. Baker, H. V. Oct. 22. [Addition to 18,555/08.] Folding vehicles.-In folding perambulators, push-cars, &c., of the kind described in the parent Specification, the U-shaped brace cooperates with slots c<2> formed by fixing bent bars c, c<1> to the wheel supports, to enable the wheel supports to be automatically operated as the car is folded or unfolded. The slots c<2> are tapered at their front ends to grip the sides of the U-shaped brace when the car is unfolded, and the bars c, c' are bent upwards and inwards at their rear ends to engage the cross-stay a<1> of the U-shaped member as the vehicle is folded. The slot on one side is made wider than that on the other, and is provided with a distance-plate d<1> to ensure that the wheel support on that side may fold over the other.
