22,433. Stubbs, L. Oct. 2. Safety-valves.-A pressure-relieving valve for use with suction-gas plant consists of a diaphragm 7 connected by a rod 11 to a valve 13. The pressure on the diaphragm can be adjusted by means of a screw 10 bearing on a spring 8, or, as shown in Fig. 6, by altering the length of the rod 11 by means of a screwed sleeve 14. The rod 11, where it passes through the gland 12, is provided with packing-grooves 16.
