Abstract

16,145. Hartmann, H. July 10. Float valves; actuating valves; seats. - In flushing-apparatus, a light ball valve g is pushed off its seat, when the chain m is pulled, by means of a pusher k at one side of the cistern. The bottom slopes steeply to the outlet so that the ball g is carried back to its seat at the end of the flush. The valve seat, Fig. 4, consists of a rubber disk 3 retained on the countersunk end of the pipe 1 by a clamp ring 2. The disk 3 follows the oscillations of the ball 5 and so keeps the outlet closed.
