Abstract

24,302. Burton, W. Oct. 20. Fixed-chamber apparatus.-Relates to measuring-apparatus for delivering disinfectant to water-waste preventers, operated by a float, the object being to deliver the disinfectant near the end of the flush. When the cistern is discharged, the float h descends, the spindle d falls, closing the valve e and opening the valve f, and the contents of the chamber c pass into the basin. Air is admitted to the chamber by a hole i and a valve g, which is opened at the same time as the valve f. The device is supported in the cistern by the pipe a connecting it with the container. In a modified form, the float is carried by a lever pivoted to an arm at one side of the chamber.
