The casement is hinged by means of lugs E, E<1> fixed on the top and bottom rails F, F' of the casement to a round metal rod D rigidly connecting the ends of metal plates A, A', which are pivoted at C, C' to the top and bottom rails B, B' of the window frame. Means are provided for fastening the double hinge to the window frame so that the casement can be opened in the usual manner.
