Abstract

Arc lamps.-In a flamearc lamp, a closed circulation device for f u m e s comprises a depositing- chamber k connected with a chimney a only at the upper end of the latter, except when tubes g, too small to convey an appreciable amount of fumes, pass from the chamber to an outer globe f. The chimney is partly or wholly transparent. The gases rise through the centre of the chamber and circulate repeatedly therein ; this action may be promoted by partitions e, which may be hollow or filled with non-conducting material. Baffle-plates may be provided. According to the Specification in the original form, as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a), the bottom of the chamber may serve as a reflector. This subject-matter does not appear in the Complete Specification as accepted.
