Fire-places; draught, inducing.-A flue with apertures in the face is provided at the back of the grate of an open fire-place or cooking- range so that air from beneath the grate may pass to the chimney to prevent down-draught. The flue may be formed of blocks c, d, e, f having perforations d<Î> a n d apertures e<Î>, f<Î>, the lowest block resting on the grate, and the uppermost overhanging the lower ones. Alternatively, the flue may b e formed integrally and rest on the hearth. A damper may be provided at the top of the flue. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 7682/97.
