Abstract
27,964. Gibson, W. J. Dec. 8. Grates.-The front of the grate of a kitchen-range or parlour fire-place is closed by an imperforate plate B, Fig. 2, or by a plate B and door A, Fig. 1, and the bottom grate consists of an imperforate or sparsely-perforated metal, fire-brick, or composite dead-plate C, and a grating D. The dead-plate C may have ribbed, corrugated, or plain air passages, leading to a closed ash-pit, or a ribbed &c. underside, and the grate D may be level, or slope upwards from front to rear. The modifications are specially adapted for the grates described in Specification No. 13,904, A.D. 1906.
