Seats combined with tables and book-rests; rests, arm.-Fittings for attachment to folding or like chairs comprise arm-rest members D, D' capable of sliding on members E, E<1> and connected thereto by clips F. The members E, E<1> are secured to the chair by brackets C<1>, C<2>, the brackets C<2> carrying hinged clips S the upper parts T of which engage the members D, D<1> in a detachable manner. The members D, D<1> are hinged at their inner ends to slide pieces W, and may be supported in the inclined position by folding struts Z. A table frame L having a hinged portion L<1> adapted for use as a book-rest is pivoted at X to the member D and may be turned in an horizontal or vertical plane so as to rest across the arms of the chair.
