Indicating trajectories of projectiles.-Fuses for igniting a tracing material, operated by the pressure of the gases when the gun is fired, are so constructed that the primer and the firing-pin are normally held at a distance apart, and one of them is carried by a part capable of being flexed by the pressure. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the tracing material is arranged in a plug 2, the primer 3 is placed against it, and the firing-pin 6 is carried by a disk 5 capable of flexure and held away from the primer by a ring 7 formed integral with the primer block. The primer block may rest against a shoulder in the plug 2. A metal cup 8 may be placed at the back of the disk 5 to form a gas-check; a plastic material such as a lead or rubber washer may also be interposed between the cup and the disk. A perforated plate 10 protects the device from damage in ramming. The device may be disposed in a recess in the projectile instead of in a plug attached thereto.
