[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Shallow - overhung - blade fans and pumps; casings.-In a centrifugal fan or pump in which the parts are arranged to facilitate alteration of hand, the blades 6 are fixed between two similar annuli 7 provided with similarly situated bolt-holes 8. The fan-disk 4 is provided with cor.responding holes so that either of the rings 7 may be bolted to it, depending upon the direction of running. The tie-rods 10 catch on hooks 11 fitted on the rings 7. The mouthpiece 18, 19 is detachable to allow the withdrawal of the blades 6. The back of the fan is closed by a plate 22. When the direction of rotation is reversed, the discharge volute 16 is also. reversed. The bolts securing it to the mouthpiece 18 and back-plate 22 are similarly spaced to allow of this reversal.
