Abstract

4964. Smith, F. L., and Williams, T. B. March 1. Turning.-A tool 16 with a round shank is secured by means of a set-screw 17 in a slide 14. The slideways are adjustable on a rotary bead 7 to afford an increased range. The slide is traversed by a screw rotated by gearing 28 and a worm-wheel 23 engaging a worm on a collar 20 held stationary by an arm 21 engaging a pin on the framing. The wheel 30 is connected to the feed-screw by a pin and snug, so that by depressing the pin by a screwdriver a quick adjustment can be made.
