Abstract
25,433. Jensen, C. A., [Goldschmidt, T. (Firm of)]. Nov. 25. Fatty acid anhydrides and chlorides.-Fatty acid anhydrides, for example acetic anhydride, are produced by treating a mixture of dry fatty acid salt and sulphur with chlorine at a low temperature, and subsequently heating the mass to transform the acid chloride formed into anhydride. The anhydride is subsequently distilled off in vacuo. A mixture of fatty acid salts may replace the single salt.
