Detachable wheels; hubs.-The permanent hub A of a detachable wheel is formed at its inner end with a conical surface a and at its outer end with a cylindrical surface a' ; the detachable hub B is formed with two conical surfaces, the inner b engaging with the surface a and the outer b<1> with a split conical bush c which is set up by the nut D. The engaging surfaces a, b may be serrated as described in Specification No. 16,653, A.D. 1908, and, in order to obtain the necessary end pressure, bolts F pivoted at a<2> to the permanent hub engage tubular nuts H passing through holes in the outer face of the detachable hub. The bolts Fare pressed outwards by springs L housed in pocke's a<3> to allow the detachable hub to be slid into position, and the outer radial movement is limited by stops f by which they are properly alined for receiving the nuts H.
