Abstract

Hubs.-Detachable-wheel hubs G, Fig. 1, between the flanges of which the spokes are secured, slide upon an inner sleeve C mounted on the axle, and are secured by a self-locking cap I, the contacting surfaces of the detachable hub with the inner sleeve and cap being conical. The cap is provided with centrally pivoted pawls L, which are pressed by springs P into engagement with a ring of ratchet teeth K on the inner sleeve, and carry pins N which project laterally from the face of the cap, and are depressed to disengage the pawls by camsurfaces S, Fig. 3, on the spanner when the nut is to be unscrewed.
