126,091. Budd, E. G., and Ledwinka, J. Dec. 3, 1917. Locking nuts for securing detachable wheels on permanent hubs. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the nut 38 carries a plate 39 having a fluted face which is pressed into engagement with the fluted end of the hub 8 by a, spring. Similarly, the plate may engage the end of a live axle. Fig. 12 shows a modification in which a pawl 131 pivoted to the nut 122 has one end normally pressed into engagement with ratchet, teeth 133 on the end of the hub by a button 134 actuated by a spring 135. The button may be pressed inwardly to free the nut by means of a projection on the spanner, or otherwise.
