Abstract

15,753. Railless Electric Traction Co., [Schiemann, M.]. July 24. Electric traction on the overhead - conductor system in which two or more conductors are used. Collectors.-The collector carries in the form shown in side and front view in Figs. 1 and 2 respectively, two contacts or shoes D. The shoes are V-shaped in cross-section, and are supported on the pins D<1> which can move in the harps C' to allow for variation in distance between the conductors. The cross-arm A is connected to the trolly pole B so as to be capable of universal movement to a limited extent. The contacts are connected to the car motors by cables L which pass down the interior of the pole. To prevent entanglement in the overhead gear, guards J<1> are carried by each contact. The trolly pole is provided near its upper end with a plate B', which, in addition to acting as a guard, is adapted to set the conductor points.
