Abstract

S w i t c h e s, quickbreak.-Section insulators for overhead trolly lines are arranged with a doubleaction quick - break switch in the centre and a feeding-terminal connected thereto so that current may be fed to both sections of the line without using two side feed cables and their roads i d e switches. As shown in Fig. 1, the centre runner A<6> has the feeder terminal A<4Î> connected to it and it carries a wheel C<3> shown in plan in Fig. 3. This wheel has an eccentric slot C<14> therein in which works a pin C<13> in the tail ends of the switch blades C<15> and C<16> so that on turning the wheel by means of a flexible steel cable the blades may be forced into or out of the contacts A<2> and AA<2> according to which way the wheel is turned.
