Abstract
20,979. Rynkowski, B. Sept. 21. No Patent granted (Sealingfee not paid). Miners' safety lamps.- A locking-device for the lamp is so constructed that two magnets are required for opening and closing it. As shown, the lamp is locked by a spring- controlled bar 4 in a recess 2 in the ring 1 ; the bar engages an opening 6 in the container and is held therein by a second spring- controlled bar 8, which is held aside by a magnet y, Fig. 3, while the lamp is being closed. To open the lamp, two magnets y arranged at right-angles are required. The bar is provided with a projection 3 which, in the locked position, is engaged by a fork-shaped projection 9 on the bar 8. The magnets act through iron cores 5, 10. At each rotation of the ring 1 as the lamp is being closed, the bar 4 engages the recess 6, and the bar 4 has to be withdrawn by a magnet.
