11,843. Wilson, G. T. May 21. Rail joints.-Relates to rail joints of the kind described in Specification No. 1588, A.D. 1857. Two fish-plates 7, 11 are used, strengthened by ribs 8, the plate 7 having lugs 9, 10, Fig. 4, which fit into holes in the rail ends. A bolt 12, passing through the plate 7 and between semicircular recesses in the rail ends, is screwed into the plate 11 and locked by a nut 14. A thin metal liner 15, Fig. 1, may be inserted between the plate 11 and the rail head.
