24,683. Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges. Nov. 3, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Regulating; distributing.-In the trausforming- stations of an alternating-current system, the voltage may be automatically regulated, even for sudden fluctuations in the load, by placing the armature of a synchronous alternating generator in series with the system. The generator is driven by a synchronous motor connected in parallel with the system and also driving the exciter of the bolster. The voltage of the booster is regulated by an automatic and instantaneously - acting regulator, so that the voltage of the system remains constant, or varies in a definite manner. A further regulation may be obtained by switching in or out some of the transformer windings, and the motor driving the booster may be used for phase regulation.
