18,874. Lederer, A. Aug. 23. Incandescent lamps.-A stem 2 carrying metal filaments is held centrally in a bulb while the foot 1 is sealed in, by the end of a tube 7 introduced through the tubulature 6. The tube 7 may be replaced by a rod, if the stem 2 is a tube, or a rod ending in a tube or a tube ending in a rod may be used. Tubing 8 prevents escape of air blown into the bulb during the sealing. The filaments are mounted on the foot as follows :-The foot 1 with its stem 2 is placed in a frame, on which the filaments are hung. The filaments are passed through the hooks or rings 3, which may be of various shapes, and are attached to the leading- in wires, which may have coils or eyes to receive them. The stem 2 may be of ordinary or coloured glass, metal, or other material.
