Stoppers, bayonet-joint and like.-Cap stoppers for bottles and jars are formed with one or more inpunched projections 7 at their lower edges, to engage partial screw-threads 3 on the vessels. The upper faces 8 of the caps are dished to bear upon washers 9, and the bottle necks are formed with a beading 2 adapted to limit the turning movements of the caps. Fig. 6 shows a stopper adapted for a jar, in which the neck is rabbeted at 12 to receive a flat washer, or a dished disk 13 adapted to be flattened by the cap so as to make a tight joint.
