Stoppers; ; corks, retaining.-A stopper for bottles, jars, &c., adapted t o prevent tampering with the contents of the vessels, comprises a porcelain &c. head A, a stopper H, and a cork L. In assembling the parts, the head is first placed in position with its depending lugs B engaging under the flange G of the bottle neck. The stopper H is formed with a depending rod J and a screw K, which are forced into the cork, and, in stoppering the bottle &c., the cork L and stopper H are forced through the opening in the head A, the cork expanding, as shown, partly in the bottle neck, and partly below the shoulders E of the head A. To open the bottle, the lugs B must be broken.
