Girders and beams; floors; ceilings.-Concrete T-shaped beams forming or supporting floors and ceilings are reinforced by round or oval bars a, b, Fig. 1, which cross each other near the ends and connect the tension and compression zones when the beams are in their normal or inverted positions. Notches a<1>, b', formed without reducing the sectional area of the bars, receive forked rods e and ties or eye-bars g. Supplementary longitudinal bars c, d and wire network or a helically-coiled wire f may also be introduced. In a modification, the continuous coiled wire is placed in the flange. Fig. 5 shows a door constructed of beams reinforced as described above, and a ceiling formed of non-conducting plates such as asbestos or armoured slabs.
