25,805. Lynde, F. C. Dec. 12. Carburetting.-A carburettor is provided with an automatic relief valve on the air-supply pipe actuated by the varying pressure in the apparatus, and with a second valve, similarly actuated, for regulating a subsidiary air supply to the carbaretted air. The air or other gas is admitted from a pipe i, provided with an automatic and adjustable relief valve k and a hand-valve k<1>, to the carburetting- chamber a through jets j which deliver the air on to, into, or through the surface of the hydrocarbon. The carburetted gas may pass through a mixing- chamber l into which air from an automatic and preferably adjustable valve m also passes, or the mixing-chamber may be omitted and the .auxiliary air supply be admitted directly into the delivery pipe v or the chamber a, baffles being provided in the latter case. A pipe w is provided for equalizing the pressure in the apparatus. Specifications No. 7188, A.D. 1891, No. 19,483, A.D. 1892, and No. 1591, A.D. 1904, are referred to.
