Abstract
23,244. Tucker, A. N. Nov. 13. Adapting for miniature-ammunition practice.- The dummy service cartridge shown in Fig. 3 is intended for use with the rifled sleeve A shown in Fig. 2. The miniature cartridge F is placed in the bullet portion D of the dummy. The bullet portion D is secured to the case part C by the spring end c<2> engaging grooves d' of the bullet portion. The dummy is provided with the usual striker E and guide e<2>. The closing of the gun causes the bullet portion D to telescope into the case portion C and the miniature cartridge to project from the bullet portion D as shown in Fig. 2. The length of the sleeve A is reduced in proportion to the reduction in the bore.
