Hose, connecting to pipe ends; couplings, disconnectible.-A hose pipe is connected to the conical end g, Fig. 1, of a pipe end a by the longitudinal pressure of a conical sleeve l and an outer screwed flanged sleeve n. The pressure of the sleeve thickens the hose and forms a bead k, which is received in a recess in the pipe end. In one modification, shown at the upper part of Fig. 3, one sleeve only is used, and it is secured by a bayonetjoint. In another form, shown at the lower part of Fig. 3, the sleeve is split and held in place by its own elasticity and the beading e. In another form, shown in Fig. 7, the sleeve is secured by passing the lugs t through the openings p<1> and behind the rising projections r. In a similar form, an interrupted screw is used instead of the projection r. The sleeve may be secured by a bifurcated pivoted arm, which passes behind projections on the pipe end, or by a sliding ring.
