The openings A, B for the two valves are formed in a plate C dividing into two parts a globular casing G, H communicating with the low and high pressure pipes K, L. The valves consist of disks E, F, hung on pivoted arms U, V, so that the bypass valve E remains open when the pressure on the two sides is the same. When the gas is forced into the high-pressure pipe by the compressor R, the valve closes, while the valve F is kept closed by the spring X unless the pressure becomes excessive, when it opens and returns the gas to the compressor.
