Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic ; tyres, non- elastic.-The tread of a tyre is formed of projecting blocks of wood, rubber, and other material, secured between an outer perforated ring and an inner ring by the aid of flanges. The inner ring a, Fig. 4, is permanently secured to the felloe and has an inturned flange a<2>. The blocks d are cemented or otherwise secured in the perforated plate b which is then secured by the aid of the flange a<2> and screws. Washers e are placed over the flanges when the blocks are new, and under when worn. In a modification, two outer rings are used in combination with a central flange with undercut grooves on each side.
