Tyres, non-elastic, and rims. - Non-elastic tyres comprise wood blocks A, Fig. 8, in a single circumferential series with mortise or half-check joints, or in two or more circumferential series arranged in break-joint order, the members of the series being connected by bolts C or the like passing through the overlapping-parts to form a rigid structure independent of the rim; a band D, Fig. 6, of felt, rubber, or other suitable material is interposed between the wood blocks and the rim. When two or more series of blocks are used, metal rings E<2> of rectangular, L-, or T-shape are inset between adjacent series.
