Transverse bolts i pass through the wedges and side plates h. The metal wedges, which are of dovetail section preferably, are spaced, and there are filling-wedges f of wood &c. Creeping is prevented by the engagement of tongues and grooves e. In a twin tyre, the felloe band b may be doubly-coned and two series of wedges used.
