Abstract

13,265. Duffield & Sons., M., and Worsfold, J. June 27. Gas burners.- Atmospheric burners are formed with an enlargement b, c, Fig. 1, at each end, and the air inlets f, or gas nipple orifices g, Fig. 4, or both are inclined to the burner axis in order to facilitate the mixing of the air and gas. A. cap k, Fig. 1, having apertures m, n inclined to one another is supported within the burner mouth, preferably on a support r as shown in Fig. 1, or by screwing it into the burner tube as shown in Fig. 2, so that the mixed gases issue between a triangular flange p on the burner mouth and a preferably bevelled flange on the cap. Wire-gauze u, Fig. 1, may be arranged in the burner mouth, and the globe or similar support 2, Fig. 2, may be carried by a ring 3 secured on a flange 1 on the burner by means of a tubular piece c. The air-supply inlets may be regulated by screwing a ring x up and down, or by a portable ring h, Fig. 1, having in some cases inclined holes j.
