Abstract

22,013. K³ppers, K. Oct. 5. Incandescent gas burners.-A part of the gas supply is heated and is passed through openings inside or outside the flame into the Bunsen flame, the gaseous mixture being also sometimes heated. In one arrangement, part of the gas supply passes up a central tube a, c; Fig. 1, down a surrounding tube d, and through a perforated screen f and the perforated and slotted burner head l; the other part, after mixing with air admitted through inlets i, passes through an annular screen k and the burner head l, the tube d having, in some cases, projections and an isolating- cover. The central gas-supply tubes are carried in an isolating-socket g having, in some cases, projecting surfaces for heating the surrounding gases. Ribs may be formed on the central tube for heating the gaseous mixture.. Fig. 4 shows a modification, in which the central tube c is closed at the top and perforated at the part b.
